Our client, an international clearing and forwarding company which provides total logistic solutions for a variety of industries in Ghana is recruiting dedicated and skilled individuals to fill the position of a Quality Health Safety and Environmental Manager.
Reports Directly To: Managing Director
Reports Indirectly To: Executive Director
Role Purpose:
The QHSE Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality, health, safety, and environmental aspects of Company’s operations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining QHSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards. The QHSE Manager works closely with all departments to promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility
Core Responsibilities:
Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE) and ISO Standards
• Participate in all Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE) programmes, audits, identification of identify workplace hazards including the company’s activities towards the attainment of zero injury work environment.
• Participate in all Department/Corporate ISO programmes to ensure effective implementation of Logistics’ Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure SOPs, procedures, processes, and policies of the department are adhered.
Policy Development and Implementation
• Develop and maintain QHSE policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.
• Communicate QHSE policies to all employees and ensure proper implementation.
Risk Assessment and Management
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and review risk assessments periodically.
Audits and Inspections
• Plan and conduct regular internal QHSE audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors for periodic audits.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with QHSE standards.
Training and Competence
• Develop and implement QHSE training programs for employees.
• Assess the competence of employees regarding QHSE policies and procedures.
• Maintain records of training and certifications.
Incident Management
• Develop procedures for incident reporting and investigation.
• Ensure all incidents are reported promptly and investigated thoroughly.
• Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities for improving QHSE performance.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
Compliance and Legal Requirements
• Ensure compliance with all relevant QHSE regulations and standards.
• Stay updated on changes to QHSE laws and regulations.
• Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
Performance Reporting
• Develop and maintain a QHSE performance dashboard.
• Regularly report on QHSE performance to senior management.
• Highlight key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.

Qualification/ Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety,
Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QHSE role, preferably within the logistics or
transportation industry.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar QHSE qualifications.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Compliance Rate – Percentage of compliance with QHSE regulations and standards.
• Incident Rate – Number of incidents reported and resolved.
• Audit Results – Findings from internal and external audits
• Completion Rate of Departmental Reviews – Percentage of compliance with
departmental SOP’s
• Training Effectiveness -Employee competency and feedback on QHSE training programs.
