Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Our client, an international clearing and forwarding company which provides total logistic solutions for a variety of industries in Ghana is recruiting dedicated and innovative individuals to fill the position of an Human Resource Manager.

Location: Accra

Reports Directly To: Managing Director

Reports Indirectly To: Executive Director

Role Purpose:

The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes within Greenline Logistics. This role includes managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compliance with labour laws, and the overall development of a positive and productive workplace culture.

Core Responsibilities:

Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE) and ISO Standards

• Participate in all Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE) programmes, audits, identification of identify workplace hazards including Greenline GreenWalk activities towards the attainment of zero injury work environment.

• Participate in all Department/Corporate ISO programmes to ensure effective implementation of Greenline Logistics’ Quality Management System (QMS).

• Ensure SOPs, procedures, processes, and policies of the department are adhered.

Recruitment and Staffing

• Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.

• Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection of candidates.

• Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and job requirements.

Employee Relations:

• Conduct onboarding procedures with new staff, by going through policies and necessary documents for the required role.

• Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective employee relations practices.

• Address and resolve employee concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner (24 – 48hours).

• Conduct exit interviews and analyse feedback to identify areas for improvement.

Performance Management:

• Develop and implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance.

• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to employees.

• Work with managers to identify performance improvement plans and development opportunities.

Training and Development:

• Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.

• Coordinate and conduct training sessions, workshops, and other development activities.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs.

• Ensure that compensation practices are competitive and comply with legal requirements.

• Manage employee benefits enrolment and address any benefits-related inquiries.
Compliance and Legal:

• Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.

• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with company goals and legal standards. HR Administration:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.

• Prepare and submit HR reports and metrics to senior management.

• Manage HR budgets and monitor expenditures.

Organizational Development:

• Develop and implement initiatives to enhance organizational culture and employee engagement.

• Support change management efforts and help employees adapt to organizational changes.

• Promote diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

Health and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Develop and implement health and safety policies and programs.

• Conduct regular health and safety audits and provide training to employee

Competencies Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal requirements.

• Excellent understanding of the labour laws in Ghana.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.

• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels.

• Ability to solve issues, concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to make difficult decisions, through following company policies.

• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• High level of integrity and professionalism

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualification/ Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of HR management experience, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.

• Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
